Last week, our campuses were filled with vibrant celebrations for Widen Our World Week.
The purpose of the week was to highlight the beauty and richness of cultures from around the globe.
Organised by our talented student events planning team, the week was a showcase of unity, inclusivity, and appreciation for the diversity that defines our college group community.
Students and staff joined together to honour the many traditions, customs, and stories that contribute to our shared experience.
One of the organisers was Aleeza Arshad, a Stockport College student, who said of the event: “We had students from Pakistan, India, China, Africa, Iran and many more taking part.
“Fellow students and staff were invited to experience various cultures through food, Henna tattoos, a photo booth with props from various countries, face painting and games.
“It’s really helpful for the colleges to hold such events as they raise awareness and increase knowledge of other cultures.”
Michelle McLaughlin, Head of Personal and Professional Development at Trafford and Stockport College Group, commented: “Widen Our World Week is a testament to the incredible diversity within our college community. It’s been heartening to see everyone come together to celebrate and learn from one another’s cultures. These events truly embody the spirit of unity and mutual respect.”
