On Wednesday 15 January, the Employer Partnership Team and the Student Experience Team hosted the Future Focus: Inspiring Careers event at BASK in Stockport.
Sponsored by Kao Data, a £350 million data business soon to establish a presence in Stockport, and delivered in partnership with Marketing Stockport, the event aimed to inspire and empower the next generation of professionals in our community.
The evening included:
– Lightning talks from local Stockport business owners who shared their insights, challenges, and career advice.
– A panel discussion featuring influential Stockport business figures who recounted their professional journeys, lessons learned, and tips for success.
The event welcomed over 65 students and their parents/carers, providing a unique opportunity to network directly with local employers and gain inspiration from their stories.
The attendees were captivated by the personal and professional journeys shared by local business leaders. Themes such as resilience, dreaming big, and embracing challenges resonated strongly, leaving both students and parents/carers inspired and optimistic about the future.
