Course Overview

This introduction to plumbing gives you the basic skills and knowledge required to work as a trainee plumber. You will learn the importance of working safely, how water is affected by gravity and cold/heat and pressure. It will guide you on site preparation, knowing the different grades of copper, which tools to use and what they are called. You will also learn about hot and cold water, drainage, rainwater and renewable energies.

Course Requirements

Applicants must have achieved a minimum of Grade 3 in both English and Mathematics. Also, 2 GCSE’s at Grade 2 or above in other subjects.

What you will Learn

This qualification is suitable if you want to enter the plumbing industry. It gives you the opportunity to pick up some core skills and knowledge and upon successful completion, allows you to progress to Level 2 Plumbing Foundation.

Assessment

The Level 1 Plumbing requires the completion of centre based knowledge and practical assessments designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge to progress to the next level. Assessments consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.

Progression

Successful completion of this qualification provides you with basic knowledge and skills required for progression to the Level 2 Plumbing Foundation.
