Course Overview

The 16-19 ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) provision will enable students to study a programme that suits their level, ranging from Pre-Entry to Level 1 at Stockport and from Pre-Entry to Entry 3 at Altrincham. Students will be assessed upon application and advised on the appropriate level for enrolment.

Course Requirements

As no formal qualifications are required, the tutors at Trafford College will interview you and carry out an initial assessment to see what skills you already have and then place you on the most appropriate level.

What you will Learn

The course covers all aspects of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Learners will explore topics such as living and working in the UK, digital skills, sports enrichment activities, and more.
Students will enrol in a maths programme as part of their study programme, which will be either GCSE or Functional Skills. They will study this alongside their ESOL programme.

Exams, Presentations and participation.

Progression

Upon completion of the 16-19 ESOL programme from Entry Level to Level 1, students will possess the language proficiency required for various educational and employment opportunities.
