Course Overview

This qualification is for those who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in order to understand and undertake effective mentoring in a range of situations, such as an organisation, the voluntary sector and community groups.

The qualification is excellent as a stand-alone qualification to allow individuals to gain a deep understanding of mentoring and the benefits of developing good practice. The programme is delivered online with workshops incorporated within the programme.

Course Requirements

You must be aged 19+. You are expected to have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (Language) at a grade C or above. You will be asked to complete an initial assessment to ensure literacy skills are sufficient to do well on the course. You should have a level 2 for both Maths and English to commence the programme or be working at this level.

What you will Learn

The units in these qualifications cover a wide range of skills, knowledge and understanding. These include units that focus on communication, working with people, and providing direction via effective mentoring and support.

Assessment

Assessment will be through a range of methods including written reports and carrying out interviews.

Progression

This qualification will provide progression opportunities to other qualifications such as:

1. ILM Level 3 Award or Certificate in Effective Coaching
2. ILM Level 3 Award or Certificate in Effective Mentoring
3. ILM Level 3 Award or Certificate in Leadership & Management
