This year has been a bit different for everyone, but with a fresh start comes new opportunities. We want to help you feel settled and ready for when you join us in September, allowing you to enjoy your summer break. That’s why we’ve produced our College Ready programme which is here to support you in your transition from School to College.
If you’ve not yet applied to join us, don’t worry as there’s still time, simply search our courses and follow the steps to apply once you’ve found the right fit for you.
Each department of Stockport College has put together a number of activities you can take part in before starting with us. These can be found on the department pages or on our activities page.
With a team of experts at your disposal via Phone, Email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram - we're here to help throughout the whole of summer. No question is too small.
If you've got a sport or hobby you want to continue with, chances are there will be students at the college wanting to join you. From running and football clubs to our LGBTQ+ group, there's plenty to get involved in.
We'll do our best to make sure you know when you're expected to start your first day with us, but to be safe, our term dates can be found under Useful Information, and have everything you need from our half terms to public holidays.
If you’ve already applied for a course with us at Stockport College then you’ve no need to worry, as your place has been reserved for you and is going nowhere.
Whether you’ve applied to us or not, you now have access to a ton of helpful information, including our downloadable ‘Return to College’ guide (above) and specially designed worksheets and taster videos on the subjects you’ll be studying over on our Department pages.
We know that it can be daunting when you move from school to college so to make sure you feel prepared for joining us after the summer, each college department has created an activity sheet for you to look at in your own time, giving you an overview of the course. There are interactive tasks to complete and even links to videos to get you used to the type of classwork you’ll be doing once you join us.
Take your time to complete your College Ready activities set by your department. If you haven't applied or want to change your course, now is a great time to do so.
We'll send you a letter inviting you in to enrol with us. This is when you'll get your college ID and any information on your course i.e. specific clothing needed.
The first week of September is your induction to college life, giving you the opportunity as a new student to explore the campus and get comfortable in your surroundings before all students return. During this week you'll meet your tutors, classmates and get a taste of what your course has to offer.
Below you’ll find all of our college departments and, within each tab, is a specific area relevant to you. Here you can find out more about our courses and activities to do to prepare you for September.
