At Stockport Interchange, Willmott Dixon welcomed T Level Construction students from Stockport College as part of Open Doors Week. 👋

Students met with members of the team and were given a tour of the state-of-the-art project. They were also introduced to a variety of careers in the construction industry.

Open Doors seeks to inspire young people and career changers to consider and explore a dynamic and exciting career in the construction industry.

Opening in Spring 2024, The Stockport Interchange scheme is the latest and largest new development being driven forward by the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC), an innovative partnership that sets a new benchmark for town centre regeneration.

Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, said:

“The new transport interchange will be transformational for the regeneration of Stockport town centre and will act as a welcoming gateway for the town and provides much improved facilities in the town and for public transport users.”

“Stockport is a great place, with a proud history and bright future. This is an exciting investment in Stockport, and the project will boost the growth of the town centre and create a vibrant, innovative space that celebrates the town’s rich history and unique character.”

Open Doors Week provides an opportunity for young people and those looking for a change of career to find out what the industry has to offer by going behind the site hoardings and seeing the diverse range of opportunities available.

TCG are delighted to introduce these experiences to our students, and we thank Willmott Dixon for providing exposure and valuable industry insights to inspire tomorrow’s talent in construction.
