Course Overview

Ladies hairdressing is an ever growing industry and having a recognised qualification can open doors to employment and opportunity in the industry. Our professional team will give you the training you need in shampoo and conditioning, cutting, colouring and client consultation. Stockport has a new purpose built beauty and hair department offering state of the art facilities.

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 3 or above (including maths and English Language).

What you will Learn

Ladies hairdressing is an ever growing industry and having a recognised qualification can open doors to employment and opportunity in the industry. Our professional team will give you the training you need in shampoo and conditioning, cutting, colouring and client consultation.

You will also gain skills in health and safety, stock display, salon reception and image creation – so you are ready for a future in hairdressing.

Assessment

Once you have completed all your portfolios of evidence, assignments and underpinning knowledge, you will have a final practical test carried out by the Internal Assessor using the VTCT marking criteria and final assessment form.

The VTCT External Verifier will visit a minimum of twice a year and review a sample of evidence as well as observing general overall skills of everyone on the course.

Career Options

There are a variety of potential career opportunities as a junior hairdresser such as working in a commercial hair salons. Or working independently, self employed which could be home-based or a mobile settings. You could also choose to branch off into other areas within the industry and pursue make-up artistry or beauty therapy.
