Course Overview

From understanding network architectures and protocols to mastering IP addressing and Ethernet fundamentals, you will develop foundational knowledge and build your networking basics. This course also includes interactive labs and real-world scenarios to help you gain practical experience in building local area networks (LANs), implementing network security measures, and configuring routers and switches.

Course Requirements

There are no formal requirements for this Cisco Networking course, but you should ideally have Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Maths to gain the most from the programme.

What you will Learn

– Build simple LANs, perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement IPv4 and IPv6 addressing schemes.

– Configure routers, switches, and end devices to provide access to local and remote network resources and to enable end-to-end connectivity between remote devices.

– Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.

– Configure and troubleshoot connectivity a small network using security best practices.

Assessment

Throughout the duration of the course, you will complete a number of online tests, with one final online exam, and one final work-based practical exam.
Once you have completed all courses in the curriculum you will be fully prepared for the professional exam 200-301 (taken separately at a testing facility).
