Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings

Completing this nationally recognised course is an excellent way to kick-start your career in child care, it introduces you to looking after children and starting your career.

The course is a combination of vocational units, personal and social development units and functional skills.

You will study topics including:

- Caring for Babies and Young Children
- Physical Activities for Young Children
- Creative Activities for Young Children
- Musical Experiences for Young Children

4 GCSEs at Grade 2 or above (including maths and English Language).

Training is delivered by experienced specialist tutors. You will be expected to undertake a full week of work experience as part of the course.

Course related exhibitions and trips will be made during the course.

You will be assessed by coursework, assignments and a creative folder.

On completion of the Level 1 Certificate - awarded by Council for Awards in Care, Health & Education, you can progress to the NCFE Cache Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner - Level 2, other Level 2 courses or Childcare Apprenticeship Level 2.
