Learner Support & Safeguarding

Supporting you

When you study with us, we have lots of ways we can support you. Whatever you need help with, we’re here for you.

It could be that you need some extra support to access College, or help with finance and funding. You might need help with English or Maths. Or maybe you would like some mentoring and advice during your time at college.

Whatever support you may be looking for, we’ll work with you to make sure you have everything you need to succeed at College.

Learner support

We offer a wide range of personalised support to ensure you can fully access the college and your course. We will help you to find the strategies that work for you during your time with us and in your future career.

We’re with you every step of the way during your time at college.  The roadmap below highlights the support journey demonstrating our commitment to vulnerable groups.

Funding and Finance Support

We have a range of financial support packages that you may be able to access depending on your circumstances. If you’re a student aged 16-18 then you do not pay any tuition, registration or exam fees, but you may be required to purchase course-related resources during your studies.

Careers Programme

We provide you with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to make positive career choices. The Careers Programme is tailored to the needs of individual students and provides a range of activities prior to enrolment, on programme and as part of your progression at the end of your course.

English and Maths Support

English and Maths are the heart of our curriculum offer. We want to make sure that everyone can participate successfully, achieving your goals and maximising your potential, which is why we have an inclusive approach and setting. We’ll work in partnership with you, your parents/carers, and teaching and support teams to remove any barriers to learning.

Safeguarding

At Stockport College we’re committed to keeping our students and staff safe from harm. That is why we adhere to all government guidance and pride ourselves on going above and beyond to make the college a safe, happy and thriving environment for all.
