Accessibility statement for Trafford & Stockport College Group websites
Prepared: 11 February 2026 • Next review due: 11 February 2027
Scope of this statement
This accessibility statement applies to the Trafford & Stockport College Group (TSCG) websites at https://tscg.ac.uk/ (the Group website) and associated college sites within the Group’s web estate, including https://trafford.tscg.ac.uk/ for Trafford College, https://stockport.tscg.ac.uk/ for Stockport College, https://cheadle.tscg.ac.uk/ for Cheadle College, and https://marple.tscg.ac.uk/ for Marple Sixth Form College. Where a separate statement appears on a subdomain, that domain’s statement takes precedence for that content.
Using our websites
We want as many people as possible to be able to use our websites. For example, you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most pages using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (such as JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver)
If you need guidance on making your device easier to use, AbilityNet has advice for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
How accessible our websites are
We know some parts of our websites are not fully accessible. For example:
- Some cards or tiles use generic link text such as “Learn more” or “View college”, which can be ambiguous when taken out of context. We are updating link text to be specific.
- Heading hierarchy is not always consistent in some listings (for example, news and events), which can affect screen‑reader navigation.
- Some images do not yet have complete or appropriate alternative text, or are not correctly marked as decorative.
- On some listings that use a “Load more” control, we need to confirm keyboard operation and ensure status updates are announced to assistive technologies.
- Some documents (for example, reports provided as PDFs) may not yet meet accessibility requirements; we are prioritising essential documents for remediation or publishing accessible HTML versions.
Feedback and contact information

We aim to respond within 10 working days.
Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
TSCG is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard.
Compliance status: Based on our most recent review, the websites covered by this statement are partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA due to the non‑compliances listed below.
Non‑accessible content
1) Non‑compliance with the accessibility regulations
- Ambiguous link text on cards/tiles (for example, “View college”, “Learn more”) — potential failure of 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context). Planned fix: update component patterns and content to include the destination in the accessible name. Target: Q2 2026.
- Heading hierarchy and structure in some listings (news/events) may skip levels — potential failures of 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 2.4.6 Headings and Labels. Planned fix: enforce consistent structure across templates. Target: Q2 2026.
- Images/hero graphics without appropriate alt text or not marked decorative — potential failure of 1.1.1 Non‑text Content. Planned fix: alt‑text hygiene and component guidance. Target: Q2 2026.
- Dynamic updates (for example, “Load more”) may not be announced to assistive technologies — potential failure of 4.1.3 Status Messages; keyboard operability must be confirmed (2.1.1 Keyboard). Planned fix: confirm semantics, add ARIA live region where needed. Target: Q2 2026.
- Documents/PDFs may not meet all accessibility requirements (for example, missing tags/reading order) — potential failures of 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.1.1. Planned fix: prioritise essential documents for remediation or conversion to HTML. Target: Q3 2026.
2) Disproportionate burden
We are not claiming disproportionate burden for any content at this time. If this changes, we will publish evidence and timelines here.
3) Content that’s not within the scope of the regulations
- Some third‑party content embedded on our sites that we do not control may not fully meet accessibility standards.
- Some older PDFs (published before 23 September 2018) that are not essential to providing our services may be out of scope.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
- Review and fix priority templates (header/navigation, hero, cards/tiles, news, events, footer) to address link‑purpose, structure, and dynamic‑update issues (Q2 2026).
- Continue measuring against WCAG 2.2 AA using a mix of manual and assistive‑technology testing.
- Train editors on accessible content patterns and provide guidance for future updates.
