Course Overview

This course is designed to cover the full range of topics and tasks to meet industry standards. All practical activities are carried out within our state-of-the-art workshops with theory work being a mix of classroom and assignment activities.

The course consists of units which assess the competence of a candidate over a wide range of activities. There will be a high emphasis on Health and Safety and correct working methods.

4 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above (including maths and/or English Language)

Level 2 Trade Diploma

What you will Learn

On this course, you will learn, practise, and develop the different skills that are needed for employment or progressing your career in bricklaying. Areas that will be covered include working on a construction site, setting out structures and performing building work of a complex level.

Assessment

Practical assignments and online multiple-choice tests for each unit

Progression

From here you can progress to a higher level qualification, such as a HNC, which can allow you to eventually climb to the level of site manger. You could also just go into employment, as this qualification is suffiecient by itself to obtain certain roles.

Career Options

Obviously you could be a bricklayer, from which you could then specialise in a particular type of bricklaying like heritage work or stonemasonry. Also, down the line, you could even become a construction site manager.
